Dog Eyes Images

52 Week Pet Photography Project

Who else loves photos of a dog’s eyes? Our 52 week pet photography project this week is called The Eyes Have It and I’m expecting to see lots of close up images. This is a blog circle so click the link at the bottom of the post and you’ll go to the next blog. I’m excited to see everyone’s dog eyes images this week!

The Eyes Have It

I love these types of photos. To me, in photography the eyes always do have it. When I first starting writing this post, I envisioned sharing close up photos of dogs but I decided to go in a different direction.

Some of my Favorite Photos are Action Shots

I love photographing action. One of the biggest reasons I love it is because the dogs are always having fun.

That isn’t always the case when I’m photographing dogs. Sometimes the dogs don’t love the camera pointed at them. How many of you experience your dog turning away or looking annoyed or bored when you point your phone at him and try to take his picture? It happens, right?

Action Photos

With action photos, I am capturing a dog’s happiness and I thought the dogs’ eyes in these images would show that too. I took this one step further and posted some photos I’ve never edited so they’ve never been seen until now.

These are photos of the dogs running directly at me JUST before they’re on top of me. I am always on my stomach for these shots. A lot of these types of photos don’t turn out. The camera has a hard time focusing on a fast moving dog running directly for it and if I’m not careful, the camera will focus on the nose and not the dog’s eyes.

Some times the photos don’t turn out because I get a little nervous that the dog isn’t going to stop and is going to barrel right into me so I move and many times the dog is so close to me that he’s almost out of the frame.

The ones that do turn out though can make me laugh. Some of the expressions the dogs make are hilarious. The ears can be pretty entertaining too.

Here are a few photos that aren’t technically perfect as the focus doesn’t always fall exactly on the eyes but I thought you’d like to see what I get to see when the dogs get really close to me.

Dogs being Dogs

The Eyes Have It

Wouldn’t you agree? The dog’s eyes in these images show determination and fun, right? I certainly have fun doing them.
