Our theme this week is Different Perspective. If you remember at the end of last week's post, I mentioned I was photographing 2 dobermans. Well, I did but the session didn't go exactly as planned. Let me introduce you to Boston and Griffin, two beautiful dobie sisters.

So.... I wrote that paragraph above before I actually went to the "beach." I was in Dataw SC visiting friends. I'd never been before and they'd invited me to come. I had a free weekend so I thought, why not? Temps were in the 70s. It was a perfect time to be at the "beach."

I'm participating in the Pet Photography 52 Week Project to learn. Last year I feel as though I learned a lot in this group because we followed a book and the author made observations and gave suggestions I never would have considered. I was kind of hoping we'd use the same book this year so I could compare my images this year to last year's.
So, when I saw the theme for this week I thought okay. Black & white. Then I thought, now what? What makes a great black & white image? When I'm preparing to go outside and take shots thinking about this topic, how do I know when I see a scene that it would be great for b&w? How do I know when I look at my color images if they might look nice in black & white?

This year we aren't following a book like we did in 2016, we will have freestyle themes each week. We decided to do this to hopefully attract other dog photographers' participation in this blog circle. If you are new to the group, welcome. If you are new to BARKography, I'm so glad you're here.
