SELFIES - Dog Photography 52 Week Project Week 25
Selfies is the topic of our dog photography 52 week project and I'm going to be honest here: I can't take a selfie (but I do know how to use a camera!) I've tried to take selfies (not a lot but a couple of times.) I can't figure out how to hold the phone and snap the photo. I can't figure where to position the phone. I can't figure out where to look. I just can't figure it out. I don't love photos of myself so taking selfies isn't something I really feel like I'm missing out on so I've never practiced.
My idea of a dog selfie is to take a photo of someone taking a selfie of herself and her dog. Or in the photo above, the guys taking a selfie with their dog. If you read my last blog post, you saw Auggie, the 9 month old sheepadoodle. She lives with my friends David and Floyd in San Francisco. When I was there last month, they met me at Crissy Field for a photography session.
I had not actually seen the photo Floyd took above. What you can't see in my photo, is the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. They sat down to do this so I quickly snapped a photo of them taking selfies and I didn't have time to put my wide angle lens on. I wish I would've stopped them and put it on. THAT would be a cool photo. Next time I will do that for sure!
I was curious as to what the photo looked like that Floyd took. I'm imagining the entire bridge in the background since you can't even see the bridge in my photo. When I asked if he'd send it to me, he sent 11! LOL Pro photographers and selfie takers have that in common - take several photos until you get it right. Right? haha. I think this photo was taken close to about the time I took the shot above. No bridge in his shot either... we both need more practice. (no offense Floyd!)
This is a blog circle and next up is Pet Love Photography, serving Greater Cincinnati, the San Francisco Bay Area, and destinations beyond. Click the link at the bottom of each post to see what each photographer says about selfies. Have a great weekend ya'll and I just saw the topic for next week. I'm excited!!
