Winter Photo Shoots in Charlotte NC

I recently had someone contact me about scheduling a photo shoot for his dog. He asked me a question that made me think perhaps other people have this same question too.

He wanted to know if scheduling the session in the winter was the best time to do the shoot. My answer was “it depends” but winter photos can be pretty even in the absence of flowers and the trees full of leaves.

Here are photos that were all taken last taken last winter.

With the exception of the last photo, you probably wouldn’t know it was winter in any of these…. well maybe except for George the shih tzu wearing a coat!

The background matters the most with wide angle shots and even then, the backgrounds can still be interesting. Mural photos like the one of my dog Moose above can be taken any time of year!

All of these photos were taken in January or February and there is still color in all of them. They don’t look just brown and dead.

Here’s my advice: if you have an aging dog, have his photos taken now… whatever the time of year.

If you have questions about how your photos will look, talk to your photographer. Ask for her advice. I can promise you, that I want you to be over the moon excited about your photos. I’ll do whatever I can to ensure that you are.
