2021 Year in Review

Here’s the much anticipated BARKography 2021 Year in Review. I always look forward to this blog post and I know my clients do too.

I went through each photo session I had in 2021 and I chose my favorite photo from each one. Sometimes this decision is easy for me to make and other times I debate between a few different photos before I choose my favorite.

Many times my favorite isn’t my client’s.

I always ask my clients which photo is their favorite. I like to know why they chose it too. 9 out of 10 times it’s the favorite because of the dog’s expression.

There is always a story behind why it’s his/her favorite and those stories are exactly why I love being a dog photographer.

I choose my favorites for the same reason usually too. It’s the dog’s expression. Although I do love a good outtake but I find that I also consider the background in the photo when I’m choosing my favorites. Is the light pretty? Is the background really blurred out which I tend to love? Usually though, it is the dog’s expression for me too.

I think some of my clients might be surprised by my choices. Although I know for a fact a few of them already know which are my favorites. If any of my clients are surprised, I’d love to hear from you. Comment below or on my instagram post.
